Supporting the Future of Healthcare

Margaret "Jean" Culver received her nursing training at Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1942. Over time, her nursing career led her to military service and 35 years in the Active Reserve of the United States Army. Throughout those years, Jean continued her nursing career at the Atlanta Veterans' Hospital where she held various nursing administrative positions.

But Jean never forgot her time spent at Presbyterian, and upon her death in 2011, Jean bequeathed her estate to Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation to benefit nursing education. Through the establishment of an endowed fund, Jean's legacy will live on through the gift of nursing education which will benefit Presbyterian and our nursing team in perpetuity.

Gifts from generous Presbyterian supporters, like Jean, have significantly impacted the landscape of healthcare in our community for our patients and their families. Funds raised by Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation have impacted innovative treatments and programs at Presbyterian, supported new equipment needs, offered financial support to indigent patients, and given our vital staff the opportunity to further their educational aspirations.

Many of these gifts have been legacy gifts, such as the one made by Jean Culver. These gifts, provided through an individual's estate plan, have the potential to alter the landscape of healthcare for future generations, while leaving a personal lasting legacy of one's life.

As a supporter of Presbyterian Healthcare, you have demonstrated your dedication to improving healthcare in our region. We hope that you will consider continuing this dedication to Presbyterian through a legacy gift to the Foundation to provide for future generations.

A gift of a percentage of your estate, after all other bequests to your loved ones have been fulfilled, ensures that the size of your gift will remain proportionate to the size of your estate, no matter how it fluctuates over the years. Even a gift of 5 or 10 percent of your estate can make a big difference to Presbyterian and the patients for whom we care everyday.
